Medicinal poem

I woke up this morning
heavy with the thought of you

grooming your hair and touching your stubble

Fortunate for you,
     my heart still bleeds

After hours in the shed
burning holes in my bed
ashes from the fire I breathe

Abstinence, it seems
is an act of life and death

I think of you
I stroke myself
I die daily
